Upon the release of his first production, his ‘Pump Up The Jam’ re-make on Ministry of Sound, Kurd Maverick experienced worldwide success and immediately established himself as a recognized producer. Kurd’s second single ‘The Rub’ went onto achieve similar success and consequently cemented his reputation amongst the world’s elite producers.
Through his talent and creative vision, Kurd’s appeal quickly increased and, in addition to his production work, he established himself as a leading remixer and international DJ. He has so far remixed the likes of Robbie Williams, Bob Sinclar, Basement Jaxx, Herbert Groenemeyer, Rosenstolz, Erick Morillo, Boy George, Pet Shop Boys and Paul Johnson.
In 2006 his collaboration with Eddie Thoneick on ‘Love Sensation’ achieved widespread commercial success and he has subsequently followed this up with releases such as ‘Let’s Work’ and ‘Strings Of Tortuga’. In 2009, Kurd is set for further international success with his remake of New Order’s seminal ‘Blue Monday’ which is due for release on Data and arrived at BUZZ No.1 and several Dance and Media Control Charts all over the world.
A couple of remixes are following in 2009/2010, Boy George – Amazing Grace, Pet Shop Boy’s – Love etc. and Sidney Samson’s – Riverside, just to name a few.
In the beginning of 2010, Kurd founded his own record label named ‘Otune! Records’ and will release a few great productions during the next month.
The first release on ‘Otune! Records’ has not keep the audience waiting longer as necessary for a catchy summer choon named ‘Shine a Light’.
Through keeping his productions and DJ sets unique, Kurd Maverick’s international profile continues to rise and he is set for a great year in 2011.
